Upcoming Events And Workshops – October & November 2009

This post starts a new series here at AMG. I will be posting information about upcoming events and workshops (here in US to start with, I will probably expand that to include other parts of the world too) related to massage and other alternative healing modalities for animals.
If you have (or know of) an upcoming event that belongs on this list, please let me know and I will include it. I am planning to publish these posts roughly a month ahead of time (this one is obviously not quite on schedule, but it’s the first one), and the next one, with events for December – January will be posted in early to mid November.
NOTE: I am only listing special events and introductory/foundation trainings. Everyone is welcome to send me stuff: practitioners, schools, organizations, etc. If you have something for October or November, send me the info and I will add it to this list.

November 2-6 – Equine Myofascial Release Level I, Petaluma, CA
November 6-14 – Equine Body Worker® Certification Course, Murietta, CA
October 22-25: Equine Craniosacral Workshops’ Foundation class, Santa Cruz, CA
A class designed to introduce a physiological and intuitive understanding of CranioSacral work with horses.
October 31 – November 1: Camelidynamics Basic Training workshop in Los Olivos, CA
Learn the basics of camelidynamics, a TTouch and TTEAM-based healing technique developed for llamas and alpacas.
November 13-17: TTEAM training with horses in Valley Ford, CA

October 14 and October 27: Introduction to Working with Animals and Essential Oils, Littleton, CO
Teaches you the basic principles of essential oils and how to use them on animals.
| MASSACHUSETTS |
October 10 – Bancroft School of Massage, Worcester, MA – Introduction to Canine Massage
A 3-hour class for those who are curious about a career in animal massage, or just want to learn some basics to use on their own animals.
November 7 – Bancroft School of Massage, Worcester, MA – Open house
Small Animal Massage demonstrations from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Equine massage demonstrations from 11:00 to 12:00. Learn about the programs and tuition payment options, ask questions, etc. Call them at 866-352-9409 for reservations.
November 7-11: Listening to Whispers – TTouch Workshops at the MSPCA Nevins Farm in Methuen, MA
November 7 – Saturday morning demonstration of TTouch with dogs and cats (the proceeds are donated to the MSPCA)
November 7-8 – Weekend TTouch workshop with dogs
November 7-11 – TTouch for dogs, cats and other companion animals

October 9-14: TTouch Foundation Training for dogs, cats and other companion animals, in Lake Elmo, MN.

October 16-18: Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Workshops at the New York Open Center on Manhattan
October 16 – A Touch of Canine Acupressure. Introductory workshop that gives you an overview of the underlying concepts of Chinese medicine, and a demonstration of key acupressure points. Instructor: Amy Snow, Co-Founder of the Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute
October 17-18 – Introduction to Canine Acupressure. Teaches you to perform a complete acupressure treatment protocol and gives you an understanding of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) concepts and theories underlying acupressure. Instructor: Amy Snow. To learn more, go to Tallgrass’ website.

November 20: TTouch Demonstration in Austin, TX
Linda Tellington-Jones, PhD (Hon) will demonstrate TTouch for dogs and cats at a fundraiser at Austin Canine Central sponsored by Greyhound Rescue Austin.
November 21-22: TTouch Foundation Training for dogs, cats and other companion animals in Austin, TX
