There aren’t many events and workshops in December and January – understandable since we’re all so busy with the holidays. Here are the ones I’ve been able to find (please let me know if you have an event that’s not on the list):

December 7-9: Equine Skeleton Assembly Workshop, Livingston, CA
Learn to assemble a horse skeleton under the guidance of Dr. Deb Bennett. This class gives you a chance to closely study every bone, growth plate and joint function, and at the end of the workshop, you will have put together a complete horse skeleton and mounted it on a display stand.
January 16 and 17: Reiki I and Animal Reiki Training: The Basics, Santa Rosa, CA
Learn the basics of Reiki and how to use it on both humans and animals. The workshop is held at BrightHaven, a holistic care facility for senior and special needs animals, and 50% of the class fee is donated to them.

January 18: Essential Oils and Aromatherapy for Animals, Kaeru Studio, Littleton, CO
Teaches you the basic principles of essential oils and how to use them on animals.

January 9 – Bancroft School of Massage, Worcester, MA – Open house
Small Animal and Equine Massage demonstrations. You will also have a chance to learn about the programs and tuition options, ask the instructors and program director questions, etc. Call them at 866-352-9409 for reservations.

January 29-31, 2010: Equine Acupressure & Aromatherapy – Hocking College, Nelsonville, OH
A hands-on workshop held by Tallgrass Animal Acupressure where you will learn about the history and science of essential oils and how to use them with acupressure. There are no prerequisites for this course, and all participants receive a starter set of oils.

January 16, 2010: Equine Massage 101 – Camden, SC
One day seminar where you learn the basic principles of Equine Massage/Muscle Therapy.
